It was a cold and crisp desert morning for the 27,000 people who ran the Las Vegas Marathon on December 6th. The creative and thoughtful Brian had been plotting and scheming for months to have the perfect proposal for his perfect girl… Kate and Brian had trained, registered and were all ready to go as of Saturday evening for the 6am starting gun on Sunday morning. However, despite all the careful planning, there are just some things we can’t plan for… After a little slip put Kate in the emergency room needing stitches, instead of in the starting coral of the Las Vegas Half Marathon, Brian was beginning to despair that his proposal plan wasn’t going to happen. The on-call nurse suggested stitching “marry me” in her forehead, but Brian came up with an even better idea. A 1.31 (instead of 13.1) mile mini-race. Just the two of them. (She still had noooooo idea). It was perfect after all!
